Okay,

So last month I installed my ACT 2600 with a fidanza flywheel. Like most people, I am having clutch disengagement problems. I bled the living piss out of the system (prolly a solid hour with help from a friend) and the clutch still grabbed right off the floor. I put in a 1/4" longer slave cylinder rod today, and the clutch engagement has moved NO WHERE, although shifting has gotten MUCH easier. The only thing I can think of that is wrong is that I didn't remount the clutch line (braided steel) back to the car; the tab that goes around it got bent out of shape and I tossed it. Will getting a new one help me out here, possibly take out some flex? I really do not know. The slave cylinder and master cylinder both look good; no leaks. Please help! I need my car back!

Can you pull your clutch petal up with your hand?
Did you adjust the rod/nut on the master cylinder as far out as it goes?

If you can pull or push the clutch petal with out moving the master cylinder then that slack is probably preventing full travel of the master cylinder. VFAQ has some information on fixing this.

Just had to ask if you adjusted the master linkage. VFAQ also has a thing on it, very simple if your not already familiar with it.

I have an ACT 2600 as well and once things were straigtened out I could adjust it so the clutch would grab WAY up top. My lower clutch line bracket is loose as well as I did not make much attempt to reattached after I put in my SS line trying to fix my problem(did work).

I've been pointed to some information that sugests the longer slave rod puts constant pressure on the bearing and may not be healthy. The general gist of the information is the longer slave rod is an improper fix to the problem.

Good luck man!

*edit* just a bit quicker than I defiant

ok,

I thought I had adjusted the pedal out all it could go, but I was wrong; it went another turn, and things are MUCH better, but still not perfect. The pedal assembly doesn't show any slack in it yet, but I know I am going to need to get it welded. I will be doing that with a couple weeks, once I have time to take the pedal out and such. It would still be good to know if putting the bracket for the clutch line on will help increase pedal pressure; I only need a bit more to get it right.

Thanks guys,

i would replace the piece on the clutch line regardless, even if it doesnt fix your pressure problems im sure it was there for a reason.
