Just got my car back from the mechanic today after he put in new heli coils in the transmission where it bolts to the block because the ones that were in there before didn't hold and the transmission separated from the the block. So now thats all fixed but I'm having huge clutch issues! Ok here's the problem: the car when letting the pedal out from first causes the car to shake very violently like its not disengaging smoothly or what , but this is the only gear that it does it in. Another thing is that to shift gears I have to completely mash the pedal all the way to the floor to get it to go in and out of gear. And when I start the car and put in the clutch pedal I can hear some metal to metal contact somewhere, also when I am driving and I go to put in the clutch and hit the brake to slowdown it loses rpm's and shuts down on me. I've read the thread on clutch pedal adjustment and from what I can see the the rod almost looks to be extended almost all the way, but maybe it can be extended further  but after having this thing in the shop for three weeks and now this its really starting to fustrate me....

Sorry for the really long thread, any input would really be appreciated.

They probably removed the slave cylinder when they worked on the tranny and didn't bleed it afterwards, try bleeding it and see if it help. The metal to metal contact during start up does concern me a little, check the crank pulley area for any signs of trouble.

but he didn't even pull the tranny and I'm thinking I might just need a new slave cylinder and then flush and bleed the system and see if that helps any
