2G Will my starter motor swap directly into an Evo IV?

I searched and couldn't find the answer to my question. My friend just bought a 1996 Evolution IV and the starter is pretty weak. I happen to have a new/lightly used starter laying around that came off my 1997 Eclipse GSX. My question is, are there any differences at all between the two, or are they the exact same part?

Thanks but I've already read through that thread and it doesn't answer my question. Not interested in doing a rebuild myself either. Just wondering if my starter will bolt right in on the Evo IV.

Personally, my suggestion would be to look up the part numbers and see if they interchange.

Tried that with no luck for some reason. That was the first thing I did. I was hoping someone actually had firsthand experience with this, hence the post, guess I'll just keep trying different search terms in Google.
