Will my car start with a bad MAS sensor?

Was reading on here that my car should still start with a bad MAS sensor. That it should just run bad. Is this true? I cleaned the MAS, it started and ran for 15 minutes because I was changing the coolant as well and then it stalled out. Wont start now. Just crank. Anything else I should check?

how was it cleaned? if it was fine before you might have damaged it when you cleaned it.

I used this. The MAF was dirty yeah, but it worked fine. This damaged the sensor I'm sure, but should it still start?

I never cleaned my maf, do you have a cel, its possible its bad.

with a bad maf sensor your car should fire up no matter what. it will start up start choking and die when you come to a stop sign. so it is true check to see if your lights dim when you try to start her up. could be a battery problem. check all wires. i dont see how your car can just do a no start on a coolant change. good luck

I once was a moron and cleaned my maf with engine brite, a degreaser. The car ran poorly and I suspected a bad maf. I drove an hour on it to a shop for dyno tuning where they had a spare maf for me to try. When there I pulled my maf and finally noticed why it was running rough. The sensor element was split in two, like the engine brite had dissolved it. So at least in my case the car did drive on a bad maf

Battery is a week old. What other start up procedures should I go through? Fuel pump is making noise, starter is cranking....check for spark?
