will evo 9 cams work in a 6 bolt head?

evo 9 motors have Mivec, which is variable valve timing, and these cams are specifically for Mivec applications. Its the intake cams that will not work:

the evo9 cams have been used by kiggly b4 with mivec I believe. is it worth it? can't tell you till yes or no till I do it. :thumbup:

How'd they get a MIVEC head to work right with our engine orientation? They'd have to switch the ecu out too to control it, wouldn't they?

I don't see what engine orientation has to do with it. same orientation as the evo8 which I've been running a set for awhile now.

I'm not sure how it was done yet. haven't researched it yet. its controlled by oil pressure not ecu. ecu just needs to adjust for the change in timing. at least thats my thoughts without looking into it much yet anyways.

Thanks guys seems like more work than its worth. My buddys got a set he's switching out and figured I can get them cheap. Might as well just buy the ones made for it.

One more question though would it be worth putting the evo o exhuast cam in and staggering it with my stock intake cam? And is the stock evo cam bigger than my 1g cam. Just wondering if its worth the mod or not?

Maybe if the head was apart and you had the cams laying around and you had adjustable cam gears.

if he is changing cams ill buy them for cheap to experiment with. let me know what he wants.

i am building this motor so the head will be apart dont think ill go this route though probly just go with a set of 272s or somethin.
