6-Bolt in a 2G

How many issues will i run into putting a 6-bolt in a 2g gsx?

If your somewhat mechanical and have a 6bolt ready to drop in you shouldnt have many problems. There are TONS of threads out there about this. RoadRaceEngineering has a great write up on what you will need and what you will have to do to swap in a 6 bolt in a 2g.

Just to add something informaitonal to this thread : I'm running a 6 bolt at the moment and I have to say, the peace of mind, however minoot it may be, is nice. I'm not worried about a bad thrust bearing. Sure, Crankwalk is over-rated and most don't even understand exactly what it is, but knowing that there is far less of a chance just kind of adds to the reliability feeling...which is rare considering that it IS a DSM and things WILL break.

i know basically about the crankwalk issue, but thats not mainly why i bought a 6-bolt. It was actually bought on accident from a local shop and i never checked to see whether not it was a 7-bolt or 6-bolt. But either way its fine with me, as long as it will work.

Your car has the split thrust bearing and is about as likely to crankwalk as a 6 bolt. All 99 Eclipses with the 4g63t have a split thrust bearing design like the EVO's and some 98 Eclipses did as well.

this motor was already destroyed when i bought it
