I have a 91 talon tsi fwd. I have tried searching and can't find a definate answer. Will the strut assemblies from an awd 1g bolt up to a fwd 1g with no problems ?

I know the spring rates are diffferent. I know the front strut assemblies will bolt in with no problem. I just need to know if the back strut assemblies frrom a 1g awd will bolt up on a 1g fwd.

for struts the front is the same, the rear is different. i have no idea about spring rates.

No. There is a reason for FWD and AWD strut/coilover sets to have different part numbers. Aside from having axles that drive the rear wheels, AWD's have different suspension in the back as well.

Old thread but the only one that mentions what I'm doing. I'm picking up and AWD shell, and just need to roll it on the trailer. Will my rear strut assembly atleast bolt up or is there a massive difference for this to be impossible? I have a set of fwd's, but no awd :(

I wouldn't call it a massive difference, but it is significant enough.

The lower bushing for the FWD has got a ~13 mm through hole for the bolt connecting it to the rear "axle". That bushing for the AWD has got a 22 mm through hole for the different suspension geometry and components (rear trailing arm, IIRC). That alone will prevent the FWD unit from being used on an AWD, as is.

The FWD unit is also also about 3 inches shorter in free length.
