im thinking of getting dsm link after i do my engine swap to a 6 bolt! my question is will a eprom ecu from a awd car work fine for my fwd?
and whats with the socket deal. i dont understand that? is that a good thing that i would want to do?

I don't know why it's so cheap, but if you look on ebay they are selling legit ECM tuning DSMLINk kits for both 1G and 2G that are way under the price on dsmlink.com...You get all the same benefits, and apparently the seller is approved by the guys at ECMTuning...the best part is it is priced somewhere around $450-500, I forget, it's much lower than the website tho...You can socket the ecu yourself, or send it to them at the same time you order link...Definitely the best tuning program you can use on a dsm, second to standalone units

I wouldn't recommend socketing yourself unless you know what you are doing. You can ruin it if you are not familiar with the procedure,

I would check with Tom, or Dave at ECU tuning before purchasing a DSM link. All support and upgrades come through them. They offer a fantastic product and will take care of any problems you have. You can not get on the user forums with out there permission. On the web site they posted a warning about unlawful copies of the link. Look at 3rd party resale, or transfer. I have the 1G setup, it is sweet.

Hey mattspyder, your ride looks a hell of a lot like a car that was in the crew I used to roll with, Team Prestige...you know 'em?
