I have a 90 GSX with a non EPROM ECU. I was told that you can put a EPROM ECU in my car but it has to be a 90 ECU, is that all that I need to get this to work?

Will my car run any different with the ECU unless its chipped?

What else may I need to get this to work?

Unless you plan to change the EPROM chip on the EPROM ECU its pointless to upgrade.

There is like no difference between the EPROM and the non-EPROM ECU other then you can upgrade the software.

Also as far as the 90 model goes, that's semi true altho you can use a 91+ EPROM ECU on a 90 if you swap around a couple wires on the ECU wiring harness. Works the same for using a 90 in a 91+ DSM.

As far as chips go have a look at www.dsmchips.com for info on what mods you can do with an EPROM ECU.

well the reason that i asked is because i was gonna get the ecu and then swap the chip before i put it in, i wanted to make sure that nothing needed to be changed as long as it was the same year ecu

Not really.. If its the same just have it socketed and chipped and plug it in.
