will a 1st gen tranny go in a 2g?

i found a 1st gen awd tranny for 350 with the transfer case my question is will a 1st gen tranny go in a 2g.

The problem with trying to put a 1g tranny into a 2g is the front and rear engine mounts. The 1g tranny doesnt have the mounting locations for the front and rear mounts on the tranny like the 2g does.

Dont try it, other than a lttle difference in mounts the tranny is also weaker.

2nd gear is almost always out on most 1g tranny's, it has been on all mine so far. I believe 2g tranny's have dual synchro's in 2nd from the factory, but I can't guarantee that.

agreeed it isnt worth your time. this is my 3rd 1st gen and every one has had problems with 2nd gear synchros. stick with the 2nd gen
