what does a widw band kit do? when i put one on my 1992 awd turbo Plymouth laser rs. and ho would i get my car to sound like john shephards talon while keeping it mostly street leagl?

If you're asking what a wideband sensor does you're not ready for a car that "sounds" like that. Research, research, research. There is enough useful information on this site to get you there but it's going to take time and hard work. The other option is to bring your car to a performance shop with a giant bag of $100 bills and they can do it for you.
