Thinking Of Getting Rid of My Wideband

You are getting fuel cut since you have a boost leak. When the air gets colder, its more dense and fuel cut will happen even quicker since the turbo is pulling more air to compensate for the boost leak. Do a BLT and I bet after you fix a major leak your fuel cut will be gone.

The boost control solenoid has something inside that can be removed that changes the control of the WG, from like 11-12 psi up to 15ish.

Yeah sorry, I just read that he has a hacked MAF. Hmmm, how do you tune a hacked MAF with no boost gauge and no WB??? I bet you are running 16-17 psi and at the limit of your fuel system. Although I know that has nothing to do with fuel cut, it is still a point to be mentioned.

Yes I do have a hacked MAF. What do you mean about tuning for a hacked MAF. I didn't think you had to do any tuning for it. We are both talking about just removing the lower honeycomb right?

No I don't have a boost leak, i have tested and fixed all of them, and then tested, and tested, and tested again....... no boost leaks

What boost pressure did you boost leak test to ?

What is your daily temps outside ?

What do you mean?? I did it using the tester with a valvestem that they show you how to make on the VFAQ pumped the air compressor to like 20-30psi.

Air temps were like in the mid 50s F

I am not too familiar with hacking a 1g MAS, since I run a 2G MAS.

But for example; If you hack a 2g MAS it will pretty much compensate for running 550s. Basically, it calculates less airflow then it is really seeing and it puts in less fuel. Since the 550s need ~18% fuel pulled it pretty much evens out the tune.

For a stock car on stock fuel, it counts less airflow, pulls fuel out to compensate, and you run leaner. That isn't really a bad thing since our cars are pig rich to start, but you should have some control over the tune and a WB to verify that you aren't too lean.

If your turbo is boost creeping, then you are getting close to the limit of your stock fuel system and running lean due to the hack. (which I can't see how it isn't creeping since you are getting fuel cut at "12-13" psi on a hacked MAS... or the BCS restrictor removal just has your turbo at a higher than usual boost for the mod)

Like I said, I am not familiar with hacking the 1g MAS, but I would throw on the WB for piece of mind and get a boost gauge.

But I beat the hell out of my car, so I wouldn't have much choice if I didn't want to blow something up. :D

Ok so heres the deal, I got a 90 Talon Tsi, AWD. It's having terrible fuel cut problems. I was driving and didn't launch my car or something, just trying to get by the stock Accord next to me, they took off, and I floored it, it fuel cut at like 4k or less car fell on its face, then of course i ground going into 2nd, and pretty much got owned by the time I had to merge. So yeah......... ###
