what is the diff between wide and narrow band and how do you hook it up do i have to drill hole in my pipe or what

They're different kinds of O2 sensors. Wideband is accurate from 18:1 all the way to 8:1 or 9:1, while a narrowband is only good around stoich (14.7:1). Either has to be in the stream of exhaust to work. Some people with 2g cars like to remove the downstream O2 sensor to put their wideband in it's place, but with a 1g, you have no choice but to drill and weld. Ideally your wideband should be 2-3 feet from the turbo outlet, and angled slightly upward to avoid the condensation in you pipes turning it into a drain. Apparently water or exessive heat is bad for them, among other things.

A narrowband is completely useless as a WOT tuning tool.

To sum it up a narrowband provides a very limited range of measurement, and is what is in your car now. A wideband provides a greater range of precise measurement. Most widebands will come with a bung to weld (drill hole) for placement. Some have luck with mounting it in a stock location, a few widebands will "simulate" the narrowband input to your ecu since you replaced the factory one. There is the possibility it will burn out sooner in stock location, and depending on which wideband you get the narrowband simulation may not be too good.

so i could hook a narrow band to stock sensor i dont have the money for the wide band right now and i tuned my controller i dont know what i did but it runs better and now i am scared i leaned it out too much what ever high thro is on a s-afc is i went down in numbers after 4k to 7k

Can you rephrase the question please?
