Amazing... a trip to RadioShack and $1.37 later my car is good to go. Replaced the cap and she runs great.:rocks:

Ok...I'm getting ready to shoot my car or perhaps roll it out into traffic to collect the insurance on it.

It is running rich...rich enough that around 4,000 rmps it boggs the motor out....
Lets see...what I have I done or swapped out...
Plugs (NGK's), wires, TPS, MAF, aif filter, O2 Sensor, tried sea foam, cleaned TB, blocked EGR, no vaccuum leaks...but still runs rich.

Fouls out all the plugs and runs rich.

I'm going nuts here. Someone help. What have I missed

Ok, when you say MAF do you mean you put a Working 1G MAF back on, or a 2G MAF or a GM MAF? Also are you venting to the atmosphere from your BOV? If so and your MAF isnt the GM MAF then that right there is your problem, because the 1G&2G MAFs measure the air flow before the BOV and when you vent to the atmosphere the air content is lowered and the ECU still thinks that there is the same amount of air, and the ratio of air/fuel runs rich.

Sorry...
Yes it was replaced with a working stock not hacked MAF.

Oh, and its a 92 2.0 Non-Turbo.

Thanks for any help...

Hmmmm, not sure then...I guess just wait and see what other say, Im not use to n/t's and you should prob change you vehicle in your profie to n/t because TSi's are turboed...just a thought.Sorry I cant be of more help.

Blocking the EGR will only hurt you in relation to air/fuel ratio. It is there to improve your gas mileage and although there has been debates about it dirtying up your intake tract and such, it is only open during idle/cruise and closes up at WOT. What evidence is showing you you are running rich? Is it bad gas mileage or can you smell extra fuel in the exhaust or both? This is just something to maybe help the problem. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/instructions/1gmas .htm

If you back the screw out some it will make the car run a little leaner. Have you done a compression test yet?

EDIT: I don't know if that will work for the n/t mas or not.

FFWDConnection.com has rebuilt 1G ECUs fs for 400$ roughly, and I think thats for the eprom'd ecu too.
