Why can't they find a cure for CW?

Or at least the cause? Is it that hard to diagnose the problem? It's just a motor. It's not cancer! I'm about to start a fund like Lance Armstrong's Foundation for cancer but mine is going to be for crankwalk. I'll sell bracelets that are made out of yellow bearings and zip ties. Go around to schools promoting cw awareness.

There's wear being caused by something, can't someone in the entire dsm world figure out the cause?

according to magnus motorsports' website, crankwalk is caused by lack of oil going through the oil squirters under the pistons. :thumbdown

im just amazed that mistubishi hasnt had some sort of recall dont they have some lawsuits against them about crankwalk?

i don't think there will be a recall on this coz it'll cost them too much. there's just too many incidences already. and most of the time, the cars are modified so they'll blame the aftermarket parts for that.

i think what they can do coz i was a CW victim myself, is to sell crankshafts at a cheaper price. they are currently charging $600+ for a crankshaft. :thumbdown

yea honestly, think of how many people have bought dsms just to find out a week later that they have CW...countless pissed off people.

They don't cure it because it would cost Mitsubishi a ####ton of money.

It's typical Mitsu to just sweep a problem/defect under the rug and act like nothing's wrong. (At the corporate level.)

There was a class action lawsuit filed but it got booted due to the fact that it didnt happen to every gs-t/gsx and that it happened to people with aftermarket clutches/pressure plates which put more pressure on the thrust bearing. But if it didn't get booted and they did win mitsu more than likely would be gone. They would have to engineer the problem out and replace every 4G63 in every 2G DSM, they couldnt afford that. Even if they only had to replace 95 - 97 4G63's.

Wasnt it because the oil squirters got stuck open therefore reducing oil pressure so at idle and especially start up it was pretty much thrust face running on thrust surface?

how can you tell if you have symptoms of CW? Is there anything suspicious that can let you know right away?
