I can't find a aftermarket SMIC for sale anywhere! Do none of our vendors carry them? I guess we are doomed and have to use a tacky :tease: FMIC for now on!

I know you've said you aren't interested in a Supra SMIC because of the fitment issues and you think they look bad but I have mine well tucked into my fender well and I love it. There is absolutely no bulge and you cannot tell it apart from stock unless you look into the hole in my bumper and realize that my smic sits at a different angle from stock which most DSMers wouldn't even notice.

It is a piece well worth considering and I've posted a few different places how I've done it but if you decide to go that route I have no problem providing as much information about it as you would like. The car is stored so I can't provide any new pictures but I think I may have a few on my phone.

OP, don't know who you heard bad things about the Dejon smic from, because mine kicks ass. It's very well made (I ran over mine last year LOL and it's really no worse for the wear), cools well, and can be had for pretty cheap if you wait long enough. I paid $50 for mine. As with any smic, properly sized and sealed ducting is going to be critical to maximize the cooling effectiveness. I'm running over 25 very warm psi through mine out of an Evo316g, and I don't have any issues with it staying cool. I'm shooting for 400whp through it, and I don't think there will be an issue doing it (I'm on e85 btw).

Ditto on this, except I don't run 25psi and my setup is relatively low power.
Also, this would be the Dejon superbig SMIC. There's nothing super about it, it's just a nice bar and plate core with some nicely shaped endtanks.

I also plan to add a second small WI nozzle pre-IC.

Not concerned with water building up in the bottom of the core/corrosion of the core? I suppose if it's small enough, the nozzle, it might not be an issue. I'm just thinking long term.

I don't like how a FMIC looks on a 2ga Talon plus I think they are played out because everyone who owns a DSM has one.

It's not like a fmic is a fad or a status symbol, although many people portray it to be that way. It is something that is needed when trying to make a good amount of horsepower. Also, they can be had for extremely cheap these days. To each is own i guess....

I did the supra side mount route. Not to brag but I think I did a way cleaner job then any of the walk throughs I've seen (including VFAQ). I'll see if I can take some pics.

If if a had 2ga i would convert it to a 2gb with a fmic that would look great plus a fmic.

I like the 2ga more than the 2gbs. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I don't know about that. On this forum everyone talk about how "FMICs look so cool". I understand you don't think that way but half the people I talk to are running evo16g and all have FMICs. They choose a FMIC because they like the look. An aftermarket SMIC could handle a evo16g pretty well. So they only real reason those people buy a FMIC is because of the look. The want it to look aftermarket and "HARDCORE DUDE" ROFL. I personally just don't like it. But again I do hear where you are coming from.

I'll have to look into it again than.
