Samuel Krauss took 2nd place in ESP, is he on here? Id love to hear about his setup.

I am co-driving Charles car, my STX car spun a rod bearing at Pocono in April, and I swapped the suspension into my DS car (and added a MBC, CBV & fuel pump) to run it in the RobinHoodRally.com

We only got 2 course walks in for the East course, 22 hours before game time we blew the turbo on the practice course. 5 hours before running found a used T25 in Omaha at Sublime Speed Tech, had it on site 2 hours later and pulled into grid just before the run group started. I probably wouldn't have won even without the drama, but it would have been much closer.

Next year they won't be able to call ESP the pony car class anymore.

This was indeed my car. As Sam noted, we unloaded the car and got 2.5 runs on the practice course before the turbo committed suicide.

A brand new turbo.

Between Fedja Jeleskovic and Brian Fitzpatrick, they were able to locate a T25 in Omaha; quite literally, without Mike Murphy at Sublime Speed Technology in Omaha, we would have been screwed. As it was, I had officials yelling at me for the last 5 minutes to get the car to grid or we'd be DQ'd. I think the yelling was the final straw for me - as hard as it had been to get the turbo, that did my head in and I drove like a total twat coning my brains out. The officials were trying to be helpful, I know that, but it didn't really help at all...

It was insane.

At least we got to run, unlike 2006 when the turbo STB'd at the beginning of day 2, robbing us of two top 5 (or better) finishes.

Next year.

I'll post about the car setup later, as we have some pretty significant changes for this year.

That really sucks the T-25 is on perma-suicide mode ESP cars. Seems like you've had nothing but problems with those dying on you. IIRC, didn't FP drop you from a sponsored car cause they got tired of building them for you? Lol, I'm sure there's more to it than that but that's the gist of it that I got.

What is blowing on it? Would would keeping a few rebuild kits around help or is it pretty much destroying compressor/turbines?

Very interested to hear about changes you made.

Those front fenders are destroyed! I'm hoping next year I'll be able to make/afford the trip to nationals.

You have no idea how painful it was, taking a Sawzall to the car !

The FP saga is long forgotten and best left that way. I certainly have no desire to revisit that.

I've not done well with T25s, that's for sure, but there were identifiable issues causing the failures a few years back, just as there was for the numerous engine failures. The more recent failures were simply seals letting go on used, unknown condition turbos - they're all a whole lot older and higher mileage now than in 2003/4. This last turbo I have no idea about, other than it smoked from the minute the car fired up and got rapidly worse and worse - my best guess would be a damaged seal during assembly.

In future there will always be at least one spare turbo traveling with us, along with the spare axles, spare Tcase, spare this, spare that Maybe I should prep a second car and bring it along for spares !

MaxQData VeQtr system - I haven't even looked at the logs/video yet ! PITA to get setup and working, but the one video log I saw from earlier was very interesting (practice course ?)

I don't believe I ever have, no.

I can tell you that the list is long and equally painful, perhaps one day I will sit down and detail everything, at least as a mental exercise if nothing else.
