Mad props, Dr. turbo is one of my good friends here locally, and i'm actually the person who sold him this car shell. I cannot even imagine/believe that this car has evolved in such an incredible way. To all the haters out there stfu you don't even understand the level of commitment and detail that this crazy fool has put into these cars. He is 100% the only reason I even considered purchasing a DSM, and it's incredible to finally see his masterpiece complete.

All I gota say is this is truly one teal car I would own any day. I've been giving him shit about the color for awhile now :D Honestly though every year at the shootout there is only one color that stands out, because of how rare and just unusual it looks in the crowd of DSM's.... and this is one badass example of it.

Btw its been 2 years or more since I've seen this car so he's kept it under wraps/top secret. so I'm just as surprised and amazed as everyone in here.

My sentiments exactly. Awesome work Rupe, I can't wait to see this in Norwalk tomorrow!

So how long has this car been actually done. There is no way you were working that fast!
I'll answer for him since he's on his way to Norwalk & the shootout. He literally finished the paint/bodywork this week, Wednesday I believe. Talk about JIT.

LOL Alright bitches, I am leaving now for the DSM shootout in Norwalk, see you in 200 miles. PEACE.

Later Dr Trubo

Well when you get back you better post some interior and engine bay pictures, for those of us who couldn't be at the DSM shootout :p

I have been wanting that style wing on my Laser for a while now... I now know that I must have one!

Car came out great! I hope it turns a lot of heads at the shootout!

Paint looks great and the rims match very well. I'd be very proud of yourself with all the work done, it turned out perfect!
Good luck at the shootout!

This car is amazing with an unbelievable amount of detail work. It's nice to see a DSM turn out like this.

And please don't turn this into a debate. I do give Dr turbo more props though cause he built it himself and did not spare anything. Every nut and bolt polished etc.....

Thats a clean 1g, but it has different color gauges, a red steering wheel. I think DR. turbos is cleaner. Although I wonder why he never used powder coat instead of paint on some items and I would have like to see him or someone use different calipers on the rear other than the stock. I don't understand the exhaust chain, I mean such a meticulous build other than that. Love the way the front brakes sit. Nice job. I want to see some inside and engine bay pictures.

SO update, stopped in Cbus to do a quick job for work, it was about 30 mi NE of Cbus. So far the car was fine. All the sudden the car dropped a cylinder. We pulled the #3 plug it was fine. Put everything back together and ran fine, jumped in went about a mile and then it was done. This was at 5:30, spent the next 3 hours trying to diagnose and fix, long story short, no spark 2/3, changed ECU, nothing, coils all were good, and I didn't bring an extra power transistor. I have no choice but to tow it home, make the call about 8:30, truck arrives at 10:30.

Driver is like look we have to make a few stops to make first, so we head to the licking county fair to unlock some dudes car. Then we head back to the drivers shop so he can get another driver becuase the tow is 125 mi away and thedriver is off to the lake in his 26 ft speed boat. The new driver has a friend and says we can't all sit in the cab becuase my friend is with me. He is like you are going to have to ride in your DSM while we tow. I am like awesome, so the driver gives us a 6 pack of Bud and we watched "Hot Rod" on my dvd player all the way home.

Driver drops us off, we have a loose wire that keeps loosing power with the ecu, we finally pin point it, the COIL wire on the connector is spread just a hair to large and keeps making intermentant connection, so I put the squeeze on it and now we are getting constant power, but still no spark. Jay Racing comes to rescue and brings a PT home from his shop and we go grab it around 3am.

Plug it in and we have spark, time to roll, we go up take showers, wipe the car down and roll. 8:30am we arrive at BUSCHURS:rocks:

Sat fun fun, Sun fun fun, after the SO we head to the local Akron cruise in scene get some grub and then head to the local bridge to watch some extra curricular activities, and then grab some more beer and headed to whitedawgs house.

The SO was another HUGE bash, can't wait agian for next year.

Rear calipers: there are none plus they don't do anything anyways, lastly I want the e-brake.

Chain, when I routed the exhuast out of the other side and hacked the trunk there is NO WHERE to mount a bracket, so I used 3 links of chain, don't worry it works just fine, it make no noise and with all the other mounts it is fine it just supports that heavy muffler, I didn't want to use it but really I had no other choices, and I refused to weld unto the muffler itself.

Well I have to be honest, some stuff I polish others I don't. Basically if you see real intricate stuff my polisher did it, bigger flater things I did. Yea stealing ideas from me, no biggie been a trend of my work since I started this ride, that is why I have waited to tell the story, that way all my ideas were first seen on my car then copied on others.:thumb:

Wow.. your humbleness really reeks of awesomeness.. I read this entire thread. And why I do agree yes "some" of the things your doing are clean, but I wouldnt say you started any trends here. Read some of the blogs on the site. If you deserve credit youll get it here trust me no need to go blowing your own horn.

**Phew I got through that without saying how I really feel. :)

Where did you guys go in Akron? We all went to Spaghetti Warehouse for their car show on our way home. There were a few DSM's and EVO's there.

I just really fail to see what the name "Dr Turbo" has to do with anything. Does everyone on this forum know you of that name? Did you just one day think "I'm Dr Turbo" ...? I'm kind of lost.

If you read this thread you will see it's his nickname given to him by friends.
