Ok well i just got Dsm link and i have not hooked it up yet but what would like to know is what maf setup would be easier to use? 2g or gm setup?

2g maf is easier to setup due the fact that the gm maf needs to calibrated with a map sensor but the Maft setup in blowthru might help you out with spool and be less of a restriction over all. The 2g maf is good for 400 hp anyway so if you go higher then it might be a problem, there is always the evo maf however not to many people go that route as that might be harder to setup as well(have to readjust the maf comp and maf scalar)

I am by no means an expert, how ever this depends on what your goals with your car is. no doubt the 2g MAF will increase your air flow but the GM MAF will give you a better air flow count.

are you planning on running a blow through(MAF on UICP) setup or meter the air from the Turbo inlet(stock)?

I'm running the GM with Translator on a blow through setup and like it

I am about to ditch the GM MAFT and I will be going back to my 2G MAF. Most people have encountered tunning problems with DSMlink and the GM MAFT and so did I. For some people the tune was very simple but most it was a nightmare. If you will be venting your BOV then you need it but do you really want the sound over performance? Don't get me wrong my car runs hard but I know it still has more to offer as the GM MAFT is standing in its way. My fuel settings are all over the place just to make the GM MAFT work. Most people are right as it depends on goals but a lot of people have made more then 400HP on the 2G MAF. Good luck!

well i have tial 50mm BOV. It has not been installed yet but im going to soon and i have just about everything to make over 400hp all i need is fuel components. If i went GM yes i would go blow through. Are your guys cars dyno tuned and have DSM link though? That could be your tuning problem.
