so your going to tell me that every hard core racer tunes for zero knock?? your WRONG!.. most racers tune for the least amount of knock they can but set the car at a base air/fuel and then play with the timing. With a haltech or EMS the timing does not get automatically pulled by the ECU for every little count of knock it see's, thats the problem with the factory ECU, If you have the slightest hint of knock the ECU will not allow the car to adance timing and make more power and sometimes to make more power you have to do it while knocking.. dont believe me, ask around..

i tune to keep it under about 5-6 counts.
