Resolved Which Eclipse do I have?

I have a 96 Eclipse I bought a couple weeks ago and I don't know if it's base a GS or a RS
It's a non turbo, it has a tachometer, cruise control, disc brakes all around, the low spoiler, and is FWD.

Anything else you need to know just tell me.

Do the Talons have fixed antenna? All turbo 2g Eclipse's I've seen have power antenna.

yes. my tsi has a fixed antenna, my friends tsi awd has a fixed antenna and my roommates tsi has a fixed antenna. it is ugly. i hate it. i hope it falls off. that is all

It's the "44" in the VIN that gives it the GS class. If it was a "24", then it would be a base RS which would be no tach, crank windows, plastic wheel covers on 14inch wheels..etc...

I had a 95 RS and it most definitely came with an OEM tachometer.WTF
I've never seen a DSM cluster, with no tach.

Apparently they made a lower model, than the RS called just a "hatchback"?

I thought it was kinda odd that the 2G base Eclipse (thought it would be an RS ,but now know) wouldn't include the tach wereas the base 1G DSM did include one in the same cluster as the GS line.....learn something new every day...

Same here, looks fake though. I have a 1998 RS look at my avatar it does indeed come with a tach.

Mine has manual widows, no rear wiper arm/motor, no power antenna, gray cloth seats, power sunroof, map lights on rear view mirror, non power locks, oe cup holder, no arm rest, rear drum brakes, no rear sway bars, and stock 14 inch aluminum wheels. Door handles are very crappy worst than my old GS I had.

Newcomers compare your car to this list also.
