I am just starting to get my new setup together and came across a good deal on some cams. My profile is not up to date so this is the list of things that I have added SBR exhaust manifold, tdo6h 20g, tial 38mm of of the 02, 660cc injectors, chipped eprom, gm mas and maft. I will also be picking up a set of crower springs and retainers to go along with the cams. But my question is which set would be better with my setup on a stock motor Hks 264/264 or Hks 272/272? The car is my DD so it is not for all out performace and I dont plan on building the motor or going with a SMIM so I am thinking the 272's might be to large for my goals but they are cheaper than the 264's.

272s!!!! you can reach the full potential of that 20g (which flows as much as a 50-trim) w/ 272s. You may have to push more than pumpgas boost to reach that same potential w/ 264s. It may be a wash, but 272s are still very streetable.

How much? Have you looked at the other NEW 272 cams? Even used HKS crap is expensive. . .

P.S. 660s will run out before your turbo with either cam upgrade will.

damn dsm-onster is faster then me at posting. Def. go with the 272's. and he's also right about the 660's. Damn I need to get off work earlier :)

Dsm-onster thank you for your help in this thread and my other one. I quess I am going with the 272's, I just figured they would be to much for a stock motor and intake mani. Yes I also do plan on upgrading to a set of 750cc injectors form the 660s.

BC 272's are a great choice but they will be on backorder until at least mid january :(

Genuine HKS's for $275 is a very good price. I don't think you'll have a problem with the stock intake manifold. I have a gt35f on my laser with a stock intake mani with the 264/272 combo (HKS's) and it worked just find

You'll do better w/ 272s for overall power and airflow even w/ the stock 1g intake manifold. If you decide to use a SMIM in the future, the 272s will be leaps and bounds better than 264s. You can't go wrong w/ 272s :) .

I agree totally! You'll really be happy with the 272's the first time you take your car past 5500! haha. It's a good feeling
