So I'm in process of rebuilding my 420a and I wanted to get a new header, my current one is ebay (I did not install them, bought with them).

My limit is $200, I was looking at Megan Racing header but I heard their flow-design isn't good, also my choices are OBX ceramic, and PaceSetter. Which one would you suggest?

Thank you for the help.

I'd stick with what you got, IMO you're not gonna see enough gains to warrant the $200 you're going to spend.

Off topic, but I'm assuming your dyno numbers are with nitrous?

I know I will not gain any real HP but my current headers are crap, you think I shouldn't spend my money on new ones?

i just randomly put 192whp for some reason just to fill the box in haha, I changed it now, seems more reasonable with the mods I got (cai, pulleys, exhaust, header)

well i got a tsudo header for like 120 shipped to my door and its been great. i have a full tsudo cat back and header and you can feal the diffrence havent dynoed it to trully tell. its a 4-2-1 design. if you can find one that would be the best bet out of the two your looking at. had a obx header on old car and welds around the mounting flange cracked.

Headers will not make that much of a difference, you will need to be running MS and many other supporting mods to get the most from it.

-OT: That is not how DSMtuners.com works. Dyno numbers are exactly that; you are required to have dyno sheets to PROVE your numbers.

This site is a strictly information and data site; we (I) do not take kindly to folks that like to compare this site to honda-tech.com or other poorly moderated forums.

PLus OnE, if you don't have the numbers don't post it.

The dyno fields aren't for what you think you might be putting down, there for numbers that you got from going to a dyno. Please remove the fake numbers.

FYI, for this reason, I've just made it so that dyno numbers won't show up unless you've filled in the Dyno Sheet Link field. You must now have taken a photo of your dyno sheet and have it posted online so that we can verify your dyno numbers to have your numbers displayed.

Back on topic... I've got the pacesetter and love it. Looks great, used it for a few months now and it hasn't started changing colors like some. Great sound, replaced a Ractive with it and did notice some more top end, no dyno, just felt like I hit 90 faster. Hope it helps

Sorry, I didn't know about the dyno numbers. My mistake

I haven't had many respones on which on to get, Megan, obx, pacesetter?

So far im leaning towards pacesetter

Its alittle OT but since I post here i might as well just ask,

will skunk2 UNIVERSAL mega power muffler fit my 96 talon? Im guessing yes sinec its universal, but do I have to do any custom fitment or any of that kind?

My car is very loud right now, is it the header or muffler? (I have both ebay muffler and a header, bought already with them)

Yes. There is plenty of room back there for pretty much any weirdo muffler shape/design/size you want. Universal mufflers don't come with provisions for attachment. If you don't have access to a welder, a muffler shop will have to install hangers and affix it to your exhaust.

Every component of an exhaust system will have an effect on the sound. The element providing the greatest influence over the sound of an exhaust system is the muffler. If by "loud", you mean "raspy" - like a Honda - you could have a resonator or two placed upstream of the muffler. If the decibels are too high for your tastes, consider a different muffler.

I got the obx ceramic a couple years back and it did help the lower end as well as some top end but nothing worth the 180 i bought them for. Plus it ended up being a waste since I went the turbo route now.

I bought a Bosal/Brospeed years ago for my Avenger. I just basically gave my money away. I'm not sure how you guys can feel 1-2 hp difference . Save your money it's not worth it.

Sort of reviving an old thread, but I had a question about Megan headers. Anybody have these and if so any difference in power/sound etc? I'm looking for a set of decently priced headers so any help would be sick.

I used them. They were decent. I just didn't like the slip fit design. Eventually started leaking.

Hey just to let you know I was in the same shape as you awhile back and did wanna waist the money on headers and not get any hp gains. I went with some ebay headers for like 60 and I still can feel the power they gave me on my mid range hp. I'd say go with ebay headers cause there just as good but cost less with no famus name on them.... I haven't had any good feelings about using meagan stuff after the strut bars I bought from them. I ended up bending one racing last summer on a speed to cost run...

Which ones were they if you can remember. Because I've heard most of them suck.
