im redoing my trans this week and picked up a new separator plate. well i need a new aluminum plug that comes with the kit but don't have it, what else can i use or where can i find one?

any thoughts of what i could use? maybe a piece of brass?

Have you thought about a lead shot out of a shotgun shell? I am just thinking outside the box. I don't know if it would stay in place would be my concern but they have been used in carburetors to change air bleed sizes. We would tap it into the air bleed and then drill our own size.
Just a thought.

I wasn't suggesting it as a solution but to get an idea of the part you were referring to since I don't have a ATX DSM.

Seems like something that would be easy to turn on a lathe if you can't find one.
oh got cha, yea what he did was a no no LOL

yea that might work LOL but to buy a full box of shotgun shells is not really worth it, I'm thinking like a button size piece of brass or copper, i just need to know from a auto Wiseman is this is possible LOL

i call john at IPT transmissions, he said to call superior transmissions they are the ones who make the translab shift kit for our cars. i spoke to superior and they are going to mail me out the correct disk. he said the material is an aluminum/lead mix material, also that i could solder the hole closed and drill the correct size. But ide prefer the disk as I don't want to warp the plate with heat if i do it wrong (just don't want to risk it on the new plate, but will do it on the old one to see how it works out)
