Where to get a decent price tranny for 91 eclipse

My transmission is totally screwed. It is shifting but not moving when i step on the acceleration. ANyhow, I was wondering where can I find an auto transmission for a 91 eclipse GS fwd. I went to one of the workshops in town and they said I could get a rebuild tranny from japan for about $500 and another $360 for workmanship. Is that price reasonable. and since its such an old car, i was wondering if i should just go for a used tranny from a junkyard which is cheaper. Is it worth investing 900 or so dollars? Please advice. Thank you

When you say that is shifting but not moving what do you mean?

Does the speedo go up as you step on the gas?
