STM does not have e3 16gs. ordered mine last week, paid 744, got email this morning they are out and have no eta on mhi turbos. guess im fuct. or im upgrading to a 68hta if itll fit the same as a 16. those are 1200 tho, good god this car is breaking my back! over 10k in now i think

10k invested to run a 16g or a 68hta?

How about a 16g CHRA for 595?

Forced Performance Turbochargers: Mitsubishi Evo III 16g CHRA

thats probably the cheapest 16g you can find new.......although you need a compressor and turbine housing.

why the hell are these things so expensive all of a sudden. even 500 was high imo. you can get a garret 50trim all day for that price and they are amazing turbos. also my friend just sold an FP evo3 for 280 so they are cheap out there just gatta look.

$750 is still to much imo. You can get a used bb turbo for the price. I would Probly Pay $600 tops for a new e316g
$600 for an E316g is what everyone was used to paying before MHI raised the prices on all their distributors/retailers. So, if that's all you're willing to pay, good luck finding any retailer that will sell it to you for that price these days. Unless someone still has stock from a past order, they're not even able to get them for less than $800-900 themselves at dealer prices anymore.

The Evo3 16g is no longer the budget turbo it used to be. Because of the manufacturing shortages, likely due in part to the earthquake/tsunami in Japan, MHI jacked up the prices. You might be able to find a used one to rebuild, but people will likely start realizing that the demand is growing for those on the used market, so expect the used ones to become more expensive too. If you have your old housings you can buy the CHRA new and piece it together. It's too bad really. This turbo was a staple in this market.

That, and possibly the fact that the last Evolution III was produced 17 years ago....they may have cut production based solely on that point and didn't pay much attention to the turbo's aftermarket appeal.

Honestly, we've been spoilied with cheap OEM upgrade turbos for quite some time....look at the price of other OEM turbochargers for basically any brand of car and you'll see that the Evo III 16G is now just priced competitively with other OEM turbos.

shit adds up quick bro, thats how these cars work. ive got alot in the engine and im just guessing: total cost of entire project is running near 10k by now. prob going to buy 68hta, its a powerful turbo and will go well with the 272s i have. btw, vrsf is fn backordered too!! 8 weeks, anywhere i can get a good fmic for under 400? ive got the jpipe and oil feed for the td05 already..

Got my new evo 3 16g chra from turbocharger.com and it was in perfect shape. I installed it yesterday and it works awesome!

i couldnt find any used or anything so i upgraded(i think) to a pte 5558 .63ar. should make a LOT more power but be a bit more laggy than a e3 16g. 900 thru extremepsi. and no 2 month wait! one week tops is what the sales rep told me and thats ### i ordered a mitsu internally gated with a t04e cover. if i ordered the t04s it would have shipped next day

Why not get a garrett t28 bro for 700 bucks. I hear those produce wayyy more than the mhi big 16g. Just my own .02 cents

Where in the heck are you finding a Garret T28 for 750. Ive been looking for one and so far havent gone under 900$ shipped. I think this was FP who had a G T28 for 900$. Anyone know where to get one for less? 750 would be amazing.
