I want a dyno tune on an 98 GSX Automatic. It needs tuned very bad/ not a cheap tune a good one where they do everything. I wanted to take my car to TGP tuning but they never answer theyre phone or email me back. I live in aliquippa PA about half hr away from pittsburgh, im willing to drive 2 hours to get it dynoed anyone got ideas?:thumb:

How close is STM to you? They do have some of the best tuners working there IMO.
I am tempted to take my car from NC to have STM tune it heh. Besides who doesn't want a "Tuned by STM" sticker LOL

Why would you ask this kind of question here? Go to your regional forum on this site and ask them (Tri-state). They live in your area and will have had personal experience with the dyno they recommend.

I dont have tuning system at my house isnt that the wholenpoint of going to a place to get it dyno tuned??? I need my air/fuel ratio fixed and my shifting fixed

LOL By "something to tune with" we mean that your factory computer/ecu cannot be tuned by itself. There are different ways to tune which include, but are not limited to custom chips for the ecu, or dsmlink which allows the "tune" to be changed. This type of tuning is usually needed when a bigger turbo and bigger injectors are added for example.

I'm curious.... Why are you wanting a tune? Maybe you just need to start with a tuneup.

A dynamometer does not tune the car for you, it is simply a tool to measure torque and power. Similar to how a ruler will measure inches and centimeters, but won't build the house for you.

Make a list of your mods in the 'About Me' section of your profile. Like Gravedigger said, you may not need a tune if you just have bolt-ons.

my previous owner said he had slowboys racing "Redo" the engine he said he put like 1 grand into it there. I then installed injen intake, magna flow exhaust, Greddy BOV, manual boost(16-17PSI), DNP manifold. Then he said take the car to get tuned and your HP should improve a bit. I thought he meant to like TPGtuning... this is under their dyunotuning section
Evo 8 / 9 ecu reflash: $495

Evo 10 ECU Reflash: $595

Cobb Accessport Protune: $595

Piggyback Dyno Tuning: $185 / HR

Standalone Dyno Tuning: $225 / HR

Worldwide Tuning Services: $1000 per car + travel expenses.

Im confused.:banghead:

They charge "labor" to tune your car with what ever tool that you BUY. You have to have the tools, and they use those tools to tune your car. You have options like DSMLINK, AEM EMS, SAFC, etc...

You need to have installed in your car a way to tune it. Whether this is an '98/'99 ECU that can be reflashed, a '95 EPROM ECU with a DSMlink/ECMlink chip installed in it which you can control with their software, an SAFC that is wired into your ECU wiring harness, or an AEM EMS box which replaces your factory ECU, one of these needs to be in your car at all times to store the tune.

The only thing a dyno can usually provide is a wideband o2 sensor if you do not have one.
