So after 8 years of having my car I'm going to have it dynoed for the first time. Unfortunately most boost I can run is 14 psi because other wise it will fuel cut. But it should be an great day! Hoping for at least 250 whp I should hook up the logger while this is going on so I can get a good sense of everything as well.

So 177hp and 190tq almost makes me want to stop working on the car. We are in DIRE NEED of a tune on this thing.

Yes, you need a tune! Do youhave anything to tune with? Gotta get allthe parts dialed in, otherwise it will not perform like you want, as you can see. Hang in There!

After looking up what to factor for drive train loss in the awd. My car is no faster than when I bought it and it was completely stock. But feels a shit ton faster according to the butt dyno. But the numbers do not lie. car makes 210-215hp. Runs Super Rich!!! I coulp probabaly put on my evo 9 maf and be right where its suppose to be. I'm not going to do that without a wide band but I highly doubt that it would make my car run lean at this point.

No I have no tuning software. I will be getting evo scan and flash with my 99 ecu I have in the car currently. Honestly I didnt think i was at the point of needing a tune until I got larger injectors.. boy was I wrong!

Dang son all them mods and no hp, atleast its been running 8 years. More boost and lean it out you will make some power.

The target goal is 300awhhp I just expected to be a lot higher than stock. It feels faster than a stock car. It had a very flat tq curve that streched almost the entire length op the rpm spectrum. So the parts are working just not as well as I would have like them to.

Can have all the parts in the world but without a tune nothing completes the circuit. Well you got a evo fuel pump so all you and atleast 550cc+ injectors might as well get something like 750cc if your staying on pump gas bigger is better ;), burned eprom chip or ecmlink or some tuning device and atleast a big 16g for 300awhp.

16g will come once my 14b dies.. I'm in no hurry to get to that 300whp, like I said I just expected more than stock power. I'm sure the tune will get me upwards well over 250 the parts are all there. I guess the thing that really throws things off are the cams letting more fuel in along with air. I guess the fmic also. Much cooler air coming into the engine.. To many possibilities. But Looking into a wide band now they said according to the dyno it was running 10:1 and ti wouldnt go any lower than that. So super rich.. So it must be just dumping fuel in the cyclinders

You can always be at a point for a tune. Heck, just a tuning device alone can net you more power on a 100 percent stock car. Before adding anything else to the car, get something to tune with.

I feel you man and one thing you forget that these still really are just 4 bangers ya know, then add awd drivetrain loss it's not super fast. Fun to drive yes but not racecar until lots money into it LOL.

4 bangers that eat V8's :hellyeah:

While it sad, It could be worsen, not really this car should make way more power than stock. has anyone ever put a wide band on a stock car to see what the a/f ratio is? I know we run rich from factory but 10:1 seems a bit excessive.

you need to get a blackbox ecu and ecuflash/evoscan or shell out the insane 600 or so bucks for link and get to tuning then.

I always suggest someone has a tuning solution in place before they start modding their car. Thats why we see so many people give up on thier projects and list a ton of (halfass)mods on craigslist with "JUST NEEDS A TUNE"

I have a 99 ecu installed on the car right now. That is the plan to use ecuflash/evoscan I just havent gotten the program yet and I'm not sure how to add the pin in the 79th spot for it to be flashed.

Looks like a 99 ecu in a 97 will throw a code becuase there is no second evap sensor in the 95/97 2g. If your ecu sences somthing is wrong the ecu is programed to run rich for safety. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/394996-99-ecu-97-question.html . That might be only 1 of many reasons it could be running rich (99 ecu). With your mods, even with no tuning you should be above stock numbers. Tho running rich usually isnt noticeable performance wise. I cant help but think there is a mechanicle issue causing the lower hp numbers.

you can disable all those bullshit codes once you start tuning. your not really m essing with the computer you are installing a pin in the harness. once the pin is installed you should be able to pull the tune off the car, if you can do that then you can just as easaily flash the car.
