On Jan. 2 I dynoed my car at Church's Automotive. My goal with this turbo was 300whp/300torque and I got it on 96ish octane (101 mixed with 91) and 23 psi.

Numbers were:

317whp , 338 torque

some crank figures could be
assuming 12% drive train loss...360 hp
assuming 15% drive train loss...372 hp
assuming 17% drive train loss...381 hp

I have no intentions of drag racing (traction is an issue...fwd) or auto cross (too heavy and not modified for handling).

A very concise list of my performance mods are the following: MHI Evo III 16g turbo, apexi 3 inch turbo back, greddy profec spec s EBC, ported Evo III exhaust manifold/o2 housing, FIC 650cc injectors, Apexi SAFC 2, Walboro 190lph fuel pump, HKS 272/272 Cams, HKS SSQ BOV, Dejon Tool 3'' Intake, ACT 2100lb Clutch, Flywheel (12lbs), ETS Intercooler, Autometer gauges, AEM AFR guage.

thanks for the compliments...

The tuner told me that since I have the cams, I hit full boost earlier and hit my peak power earlier...he said he can't tune too much because I don't have cam gears.

What do you think I could do?

EDIT:

i think the pic went down...here it is on another host

Thats crazy how quickly you hit full boost and power. Insane man. I guess thats good for a street car. But would suck for the track.

so i read your list of mods , and you have the same set up as alot of cars in my area, with the exception of the 190 pump and 23 p.s.i. . And with good tuning ive seen them put out 350 to allmost 400hp on pump gas. im not sure how they tune ive just seen the numbers off the dyno,, but your close im sure you can get a little more, congrats tho.:thumb:

Looks like a standard 16g powerband. I'm not sure what everyone is so surprised about. He's trying to hold 23psi on 272's. That thing is huffing so hard it's probably going to melt the charge pipe.

What kind of dyno was this on and what were the uncorrected numbers?

I'm amazed he's trying to hold 23 psi on a 190lph fuel pump.

At those flow amounts and pressure the 190 is limiting the setup in my oppinion.

Also Transmission loss really isn't a percentage [its just easier to calculate that way]. Its really is closer to a static value.

But Good Job on the numbers, I am sure you are pretty happy about them... I would be. But I would recommend a Wally 255Hp [high pressure] with a Rewire and a AFPR. I think this will improve your 4k to 6k power. As I believe what you are seeing is the fuel pump no longer being able to keep up with what the engine 'could' make.

I think Splitpi's got it about the limiting factor being the pump. Once you pass 300 whp, you better get a 255 for safety AND tuning the top end will surely be easier

sounds like the fuel pump to me,i was tuning a car last night that had fuel issues with the 190.
on a 18g sl2 24psi car was running lean after 5k,put a 255 in it and ran 10.0 a/f's right
after the install.

Am I reading this dyno sheet wrong or is everybody else?
The HP curve is on the right side and it peaks at 308.2 HP at 6092 RPM.

The curve looks pretty good it stumbles at 5000 to about 5300 RPM I would like to see the A/F log over the pull if you have it.

The graph on the left is the torque curve. There are two runs shown on each graph.

Those are pretty good numbers, for a daily/street car. How much to the cams affect those numbers? Like whats the gains with cams? Seems like a set up I would like to run, minus the cams and the 23psi of boost..

Josh

Here are the numbers my setup on a differnet dyno but still a dynopack setup. Mine was done at RRE.

B16G, 91 octane, 20 psi, Stock cams, 720 injectors, DSM link, full mods in profile.

I'm not trying to steal this thread, I'm just throwing up a similar one with stock cams for comparison. The real difference I see is how much my power and torque fall off above 6k rpms.
