where should i start?

i want to start moding my 1996 gs-t and i have no idea where to start. what are some parts that are good to start with? my hp goal as of right now is 300hp. i may want more next summer. right now all i have is an ssqv. im probably getting a cat-back exhaust soon.

Start small and work up so you dont miss any of the important parts, on my talon i started with basic things like plugs, wires, msd coil, cold air intake, and porting the throttle body which helped to gain a little bit more air to the engine. It also depends on which engine you are running, are you running the
4g64, 4g63, or the 420a engine?
