I got this thing back together finally and was trying to start it up and the starter doesn't engage. I found this single wire connector loose and can't figure where it goes. I'm hoping it for sensing the clutch is engaged. Thanks.

Thanks for responding. I've got the ground wire on the starter. This connector is too small to fit the prong on the starter.

There is a single wire that comes off the starter solenoid and connects to the plug in your hand. Not having that wire connected is the reason your car is not cranking over.

That wire is the biggest pita. It connects on the top of the starter, it just slides on, then it has a connector that hangs left of the head above the tranny. I just changed the starter 3 days ago.

The wire is black with a yellow stripe. Also, the connector I was talking about is a two pin connector so it looks funny. If you need pics lmk, I'll take some for you.

Hard to tell but if that wire is black w a yellow stripe its the signal wire to the starter like already stated. If the other end is attached to the starter then the opposite end is attached to the harness it should be located directly above the tranny. Look in that general area and hopefully this solves the prob

Thanks guys. I did find the connector above the tranny and got it fired up. Sure sounds nice with 272s and 3 inch exhaust now.

Thanks again!

Is there a way to make the connection to the starter tighter? Mine fell off again this morning...

multiple zip ties. Like one on each piece horizontally then 2 linking those together vertically.
