This might be the newbiest question other than "Where does the oil go?"...

Where exactly does one fill the radiator with coolant?
In the overflow tank or where the radiator cap is?

open the radiator cap fill that. make sure to squeeze the bottom radiator hose to get the bubbles out fill it to the top put the radiator cap back on and fill the overflow to the maximun line. than start car and get the coolant flowing.make sure theres no air pockets in the cooling sytem.

Pop the radiator cap off and fill it up, then start the car with the radiator cap off. Let the car warm up to operating temperature so the t-stat opens up and the coolant starts circulating through the system. Keep an eye on the coolant level, continually filling it up at the radiator cap while its idling until it stays at the top.
Put the radiator cap back on and fill the overflow, then your done!

Doing it this way will burp the system and the best part about it is that you don't have to squeeze the donkey dick lower radiator hose while your doing it either.

...you can tell you burped it correctly by turning on the heater in the car, if it blows colder air than usual theres still air in the system and it needs burped more.

also make sure to turn on your heater to the highest setting..this will open any passage through your heater core and remove any air trapped in there...always with the radiator cap off too...u can squeeze the lower radiator hose to help burp the air through the system...

just realized you too are from oxnard...
