where do i start? parts list please?

hello everyone im new to the dsm scene, I just bought a 1991 talon awd tsi. the guy I bought it from was making a drag project and gave up. the engine trans and drive line are all hooked up. he has put a lot of money in the motor internals so this is why I bought it because it was priced so low. I have receipts for all the parts and labor as well. the problem im having is its is missing a lot of engine bay parts, I have engine trans in place other then that I am missing everything else. other parts I do have that cam with car are a fmic, aluminum racing half rad with slim fan which he made mounts for I also have the intercooler piping. I have stock intake and stock exhaust manifold. I got a AEM fuel rail I also got a holset turbo with it, and a bunch of misc. junk to go with it from old parts to other stuff I don't even know what it is or where it goes. I know of a good bit I need but I know im missing a lot . the things I know I need are as follow : injectors, maf, map, knock, throttle body, fuel pressure reg, oil return and feed lines for turbo. exhaust ( I have o2 housing), I will also be using a different turbo for now until I work up to the holset. also have a eprom ecu, I need fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter,( also know this car has a fuel cell in it and might try to utilize it to a point but want to has stock fuel tank as well) and im not sure what else I need. one thing I know for sure I NEED HELP. any suggestions or insight is much appreciated. im very mechanically incline so please don't be afraid to elaborate. ideas where I can find parts cheap I jus want to put it together to get it moving and buy new as I get it going one piece at a time. also I know I need just about every nut and bolt to put this motor back the guy gave me a bucket of bolts and said it was all the bolt he took off.... ( it was a bucket of bolts you would find in a junk drawr ) so I also need to find all the bolts as well. just on a side note this guy TOLD me its a 6 bolt motor from a 95 talking to a few close dsm'ers ive been told its most likely a 7 bolt being the ft motor mount was relocated to utilize new motor and trans mount was custom made. again any help or advice I would greatly appreciate. thanks again and good luck on your projects hopefully mine will come around sometime soon. im going to attempt to attach a pic of the engine in this post to give you an idea the parts I have are not pictured.

You can check the front of the oil pan where the front case/oil pump is to I.d. the block.. if it's straight across where the pan meets it's a 6 bolt, if it's angled and curvy it'll b a seven bolt.

I think one thing I would go for is to find another dsmer that lives in your town, it'll help if u have a mostly complete dsm to look at. Or get a membership at your local salvage yard. I learned a ton of stuff from gutting a few dsms and seeing what goes where. Looks like you have a non turbo water pipe for that holset, so start with Holset I say. U can always work your way up in boost that'll be easier then spending money on another turbo setup and changing it out later.

Make a starting point for this project. Are u building it into a dedicated drag strip car? Road race? Daily driver? Then you can narrow down what u will need to get your project rolling. For tracking down what bolt goes where or what u will need I would check out some dsms at the salvage yard and make notes or take pictures of what goes where. Start on one area them work out from there.

If I were you I'd start in the back of the engine bay, and work your way to the front radiator, and as far as stock under hood parts goes... you can find good used parts at wrecking yards or dsm part outs in your area, you just have to have an idea of what your all missing, a fsm would help here, get one or download one...you can also buy a bunch of hex headed stainless metric socket cap[aka Alan headed] bolts from fasten-all, or a local hardware store you just need to know the length and thread pitch so take a few common sized bolts and make a trip to the hardware store.
