Okay, keep this under your hat: out of my 30+ cars, I've _never_ turned a rotor. Including on cars that had run the pads down to metal, and gouged the surface of the brake. It didn't pull, it didn't eat up the pad, it didn't brake unevenly, it didn't lock up in the rain. I was amazed. It was one of my many 510s, and it just worked like nothing was wrong.
I've also not warped a rotor. I have no cover story nor explanation why. I'm not especially easy on cars, but I don't have much trouble with them.
They're your brakes, I'm just telling what I've done. I can't say I recommend it.
