Car dies when you pump the brakes?

I picked up a 2g recently but it has a few problems. Recently I've noticed that if you pump the brakes while the car is idling the rpms will drop and the car will shut off. Any idea of what my problem could be?

Sounds like you might have a bad brake booster.

How will a brake booster affect the engine? By leaking vacuum?

Its probably an electrical issue. Normally when you press the brakes there is a slight voltage drop. The volt meter on my turbo timer dips a bit when i press the brakes.

It should be easy to prove or disprove the brake booster by unhooking the vacume line for it from the back of the intake and plug off the port on the intake. Then start the car and press the brakes and see what happens. If the car runs normal then the booster is bad. If it still acts up then the search continues.

Usually when it's a vacuum leak, your rpms fluctuate, up and down. Does it die when the car is warm and been running for a while? Mine dies when I hit the breaks when it's cold, but it needs a tune. Give a little more info please.

Ok thanks guys well the antilock brake light is on and I haven't been able to figure out why and the rpms do fluctuate up and down when idling I thought it was a bad tps but it still does it a little even after I replaced the tps

Need some help guys.. My car is overheating. I replaced the tstat and rad cap, got a mishimoto tstat and stant 1.1 cap. Replaced the radiator with a xline mishimoto. When I'm driving, I'm good for about 20 miles, the car heats up and she needle sits in the middle as it should, then after a little while, it climbs to 3/4 and drops back to half way. It does this a few times and then just pings out. Any ideas?

Water pump maybe, sounds like you have replaced everything else in the cooling system. Try a flush of the system first, and then if that isn't the case check the water pump out how many miles on the car? Do you know the last time the water pump was replaced?

Why would it work for the 1st 20 min then start failing?

that should like a headgasket. do a leak down test. and as far as the brake issue, the vacuum line the comes off the brake booster to the intake manifold should have a check valve in it. if it does not the car will shut off while braking
