CAR: 1996 eclipse RS, Cold air intake, catback.

When i started my car this morning it seemed fine. Started to go and it died at a stop sign, so I started it back up and it died again. I started it up again and reved it to keep the RPM's up. It drives ok but if I dont shift quickly it dies. Everytime I put it in nuetral to slow down or stop it dies. There are no idiot lights on. I have no idea what is wrong. I checked the oil when I got to school and its fine. Didnt have time to look at anything else. I am still at school and I still need to drive it home.

I asked my dad about it, he told me to get in the car and hold it at about 1500 rpms to keep it runing. I did and he did something and next thing I know the car runs fine. My dad never ceases to amaze me. But thanks for the help.

would have been cool if you asked him what he did and wrote it down..or did he just turn the idle screw and you got amazed?

LOL. It wasnt the idle screw, and i didnt see any vacuum hoses off either. I havent talked to him yet to ask what he did.

Problems back. Usually in the morning when i crank it up it will idle a little bit high. Then after about 5 minutes of normal driving it starts cutting off at every stoplight and if i dont shift quick enough it will shut off. It also feels like it is really slow. Like, you guys know what it feels like when you turn the A/C on. It kinda lags, that is how it feels all the time. Also sometimes it sputters a little when I hit the gas. Is there something wrong with the injecters, maybe?

this may sound stupid but check your battery terminals. in my friends car when we installed his system his positive terminal wasnt very tight and it stalled every time he came to a stop.

I am pretty suremy terminals are tight, but I will definently check becuase I have forgotten to tighten them before.

And the car did the same thing on the way to school today. I feel like such a jackass when, to pull backwards into a parking spot i have to roll forward, crank the car back up, and pull into the spot. :thumbdown
