Radio Dies when you turn up volume or hit brakes

Well I just been having this problem lately after having no problems with my sony head unit for a whole year it decides to turn off even if I have the car off and just in accessory mode. I just replaced the battery too. It also shuts off when I hit the brakes or turn the lights on too. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

Sounds like a short to me. Check your wiring harness for bare spots.

Possible bad alt or battery drain. Measure battery voltage when lights on or brakes.

Check for short, my honda does this sometimes, ive never fixed it and my battery and alternator are great.

If you cant find anything check the battery and alternator. Odds are those will be ok, and you have a sneaky short somewhere.

also this may sound stupid but make sure the face plate isnt coming loose a bit ### mine is like that and that is the reason.

Like love2rallye says, check your battery and alterantor, I had the same problem with my 90 gst when I put the brakes on the stereo would cut out.
The problem was that my alternator was all but dead and so the car was running probably 90 percent off battery.

I had the car in my shop and had the car off and chager on trinkle charge 2amp and hitting the brakes still makes it go out I even tested the alt and put a new battery in it still have the same problem.

My guess would be either a poor power connection or a poor ground. That's usually one ignition +12V, one battery +12V and one ground wire to a lug with a screw or bolt through it into the chassis. Make sure the ground wire is securely bolted/screwed to the chassis locally instead of being wired back into the original harness.
