Wheel/tire info for a newbie

So, im relativley new to the DSM world. I've always liked cars but the one are i neglected to learn anything about is wheels. I bought a second set of rims with 225/50r16 and the wheels on my car currently are 225/50r16. I looked online for a set of winter tires so i can have both winter and summer, but i got lots of different measurements. What can i get/should i get?

6.5 I believe. It's a 99 get with the oem rims.

Typically for a winter tire, you want to steer away from wide tires. My vote is for a 205/55/16 winter tire. Now is the best time to buy winter tires with manufacture rebates and sales. Just so you are aware, a 215 width is the widest recommended tire for a 6.5 inch rim.
