Newbie looking for info

Hi everyone I'm new to the forums and not a big car buff honestly but a little while back a rode in a buddies 97 gsx and fell in love with the thing I was looking for any sites or reading you guys may know to get my knowledge built before I try to build a car anything is greatly appreciated it can be anything from engine building to general history on the cars common issues that need to be addressed with factory faults etc

+2 for Jafro. I haven't looked at Tom's Youtube channel. jafro mobile has some awesome stuff. Helped me a lot with my engine build.

I think the number one piece of advice is don't cheap out on the important stuff. Like pistons and rings, gaskets and belts buy oem or proven aftermarket, no auto zone parts, like ever even alt and starters. Trust me I've made the mistake, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do but just a heads up.

yeah and dont cheap out on anything because your car is only as good as the weakest link
