So I replaced the front wheel bearings on my eclipse like 6 months ago, put in a lower control arm today and found now the wheel bearings have some play Wtf. Their moog wheel bearings thought they were an Ok brand, either i screwed them up or just a garbage part?

if you don't torque them up to correct specs you will wear them fast. what did you torque them to? and also HOW did you torque them as if you do them with the wheel ON the ground it might not be set correctly so you need a second person to press the brakes with the car in the air and then torque with NO load on the bearings.

Didn't even know I needed a second person to hold the brake thats news to me, but I tightened them like any other wheel bearing run the castle nut to tourqe spec back it off a quarter turn check play and pin it

If you tighten them with the wheels on the ground which can be done you might not have the bearing pulling in properly and could be under spec since load is on the bearing. Its always best to torque them up on axle stands.

Do you have the procedure from mitsubishi? Do you think these bearings could be corrected?
I dont have the FSM on me but you can download one. I shall try add the link shortly here for that.

Once bearings have gone its rarely possible since the race inside is bad and generally wont last long after.

What? Why would you need to hold the brakes if it's not part of the rotating assembly?

It's simple. 4 bolts. Torque to 65 ft/lbs. Since the axle needs to be removed, I'm not sure why you would try to torque these with the wheel installed.

Are you sure it's play from the bearing and not something else?

I've never had major issues with Moog parts. They can be hit or miss like most aftermarket manufacturers though.
