I just bought a 97 eclipse gst did run but like crap, when i got the car it had no power and slowly built boost but still had no power the guy told me it was the coil pack. Then one day i drove it and lost all motor power and had towed the car back home. When i start the car it cranks and turns over and idles but as soon as i rev the car the motor shuts off if i try and start it after that it does not start. If i wait alittle while it cranks and turn over and do the same thing again and turn off when i rev it or try and move it.

p.s.: guy told me its a 6 bolt swap and has papers of it haveing 70xxx miles lost guys number so cant get the proof.

does it make like a clicking noise after it dies and when you try to restart it?

Have you had any issue with water getting into the interior?

DonSTLDSM- no water at all in the interior.

007jimmy-the cel is on just dont have a obdII to check it yet and i was thinking one of the two things are wrong im hoping its little.

The CEL could show a host of problems that are causing the car to run rough. Untill you get the codes read its just a guessing game on whats wrong.

Timing being off and boost/vacuum leaks is common. Both of these things can cause the car to run rough also. These are good places to start.

Do BLT, get your codes checked at autozone or rent the tool. Any mods on it? Get some pics of the bay maybe we can see if something is not setup right. Your maf plugged in? Are you venting to atmosphere?
Get a voltmeter and check your coil pack. How are plugs, wires?
How's the alternator? post back results.

Since you got a 6bolt swap make sure you do as Jimmy suggested and check your timing.
