2G What's the point of blocking off EGR valve (Merged)

I used an aluminum can and it melted stright thru it so that should tell u how hot it gets so I switched to thin sheet metal
 
It's circulating hot air into the cylinders which causes knock and blows your engine

This is misinformation if I have ever seen it. he main purpose of the egr system is to reduce oxides of nitrogen emissons during acceleration. This is done by allowing a small amount of exhaust gas to be re-circulated into the intake only during accelleration. A second benefit of the egr system is that exhaust gasses are inert and the introduction of a small amount of it into the combustion chamber not only reduces emissions by replacing some of the combustible air with inert exhaust gasses, this process also reduces knock.

Most people block off the egr, but you can't only do that. You have to delete all of the emissions in the car to remove it correctly.

Most people do not do this.

So I should block it off my old talon was blocked off when I got bought car now my eclipse I have now is still intack and knock r u preferring to crankwalk

This system is meant to reduce knock to an extent actually. This has nothing to do do with "crank walk".

There are zero performance gains from deleting the egr system.
 
Here in my state, there is no NOx readings during the sniff test, thus I blocked mine.

Yet, what it did is reduce the HC readings in my sniff test since I'm not pulling exhaust gasses in to pollute the exhaust gasses more to raise the HC count. Plus, I use a catch can to aid in removing HC content even more. My last sniff test, the HC count was in the low 100's at 2600rpm where the limit is at 220ppm.

True though: there is no performance benefit from removing the EGR our of the emissions loop.
