Would it cause any problems to just unplug the vacuum lines from the EGR until my bypass plate gets here? Like just unplug it and let it chill there? I am getting idle surge and I think that could be the problem? thanks

LoL, I got worried and this is the first post I have been able to find after hours of searching that gives me some relief just wish that there was more input. I recently did emission hose delete and removed the hoses going to and from my EGR valve, after I removed hose's my idle went up, and I got a hunting idle. Also don't have a block off plate installed yet. Before delete I had a smooth 700-800 RPM idle. After delete-cold the idle is at 1200 smooth. When at operating temp and after driving or raised rpm's, right after clutch is depressed and/or in neutral the idle will hunt between 1100 and 1400 for a few seconds then calm back down to 1000rpms. The hunting only happens after rpms have been raised in or out of gear, and settles back to a steady 1k. Gonna be installing a temp. EGR plate tomorrow to see if this solves problem with EGR, believe that's causing an unmetered influx of uncounted air and throwing off air fuel mixture.

I'll post my results to help future search's.

If you have deleted the emissions and capped it all off then your leak is the egr valve. some guys cut a coke can and block it for good, ghetto but it works. Since you got a place coming just get a short peice of vacuum tubing and loop the two nipples or crush them closed. However int he mean time your car wont be hurt, it will just run like azz

your rpms will hunt because your fuel pressure regulator also works off vacuum and vaccum works off rpms/engine load.

Well, cut up a Mountain Dew can made the rpm hunt settle down some but still hunted. And had when settled down had a high idle still. I then lowered my BISS screw then reset ECU. Now it tries to idle at about 850-1000 but the hunting has almost entirely gone away. Gonna try lowering BISS a bit more. BISS has been adjusted in past by previous owner. Before his ECU went out guess the Idle was super low 400-500 so he backed it out ALOT.

i just unplugged all that crap and didnt worry about plugging the egr nipples. Its closed under WOT, 0 vacuum anyways...So in open air, the egr valve is closed.
