Valves bent, well more or so broke in half, this piston head is done isnt it? time for rebuild?

Yep I would pull those pistons too and make sure you don't have any debris in the engine better safe than sorry, you don't want any metal in the engine damaging the cylinder walls, or the bearings that's just me, I believe in doing it right don't take chances or youll be doing again, learned a lot over the 20 years of working with these things.
 
Rebuild time.

Just make sure that the head or cylinder walls weren't damaged.

head wasa ####ed even before the valves bent, the cams started to walk, previous owners failed attempt at re tapping an exhaust stud hole, cylinder walls look fine to me, heres the head:

You definetly want to replace those pistons. That is one of the thinnest parts of the piston there. With gouges like that I would be willing to bet that they are cracked and very severely weakened. I would at the bare minimum pull it apart, hone the cylinders and install new pistons rings and bearings. You can get the npr piston and rings along with acl bearings for about 130 bucks.

okay cool, pulled the engine out today, turns out i have a 6 bolt :D
