Alright im keeping my talon base model. It has the 420a in it. Im going to buy a rebuilt head and short block for 1300 dollars and turbo it with a 900 dollar kit. It will cost me 1200 to turbo it. Should i do that or buy a tsi awd with big 16g in it. It has 140000 miles on it though and needs lifters. It makes loud noise because of lifters. We are 99 percent sure it is lifters. also turbo dont spool til 4500 rpm. so what would you do. buy the awd or turbo the 420a

Buy the AWD. The cost may go up as you rebuild or replace the turbo, and engine, but in the end you will have much less headaches going with a car that was factory built with everything it needs to run turbo charged. You will probably also get more power much easier running the 4g63.

Buying the TSi would definitely be easier as far as having a boosted car. But it kind of depends on the condition of your car and the condition of the TSi. If yours is spotless and the TSi is all rusted to hell, keep your car.

It will be alot cheaper overall and less of a hassle to go with the TSI now, plus AWD. You have to re-wire, upgrade fuel system, tranny swap fpr the extra power ect. Just go with the TSI!

I have the 420A too, and Iv'e asked myself the same question. I personally want to get the Awd just becaues I want all the Hp to make it to the ground. I love Awd cars, the hole shot is great. I guess it really just depends on your driving style and what you want out of the car.... I've been looking some time now for a Tsi Talon, but no luck. I live in south Ga and the only thing i've found around are all automatic. Other than cars up north, but im not wanting to get a rust bucket (salt on the roads)

But whatever you decide to do, good luck!

420A = they were smokin pot when they made it. thats why its poop.

of it doesnt have a 4G63 it's not worth it. save yourself the time and headaches. get the real deal ;)

Exactly how is the 420A bad? The head flows better than a 4g63. The only real difference is it wasn't directly built by Mitsubishi, therefor it's a bad engine? I'll stick with my 420A and build it for turbo. The only thing I would want from the tsi is the AWD.

^^^it's like having a V6 mustang vs a cobra. you never will have everything the cobra has stock.

i bought my TSi AWD for $750. you can find them for $2,500. the price of them is LESS than the turbo you will put on a 420A.

if you are gonna do a 420A car turbo, do it different. 2.3 SRT4 swap.

Why are you guys telling him to buy a almost 150,000 car thats going to be more troubles than his current car. At least he knows the maintainence done on HIS car. Just boost your 420a bro. That noise you think could be lifter tick could be anything.

my car has 156K and the lifters tick. LOL.

and if he turbos his 420A hes introducing a lot of stuff that motor wasn't made for.

honestly, i would keep the 420A stock and save for an AWD in the future. then u have a daily and a fun car. thats what i have..

wait...## spending $3,400 total on an engine and turbo??!!

take that and find an AWD. really man. then u get 2-pot front brakes, disk rears, leather, 17's, etc already.
