what would you consider to be a steal for a virgin gsx

so found a 95 gsx nothing after market on it all virgin stock ready for the huge price tag $1150! WTF yup I am thinking that its a steal. There is a little rust on the front fenders and the hood but I got my spyder's hood still since the spyder got a cf hood now and the fenders well they arnt to hard to come by either. so what do you all think?
 
nope not stolen. Has a clean title. I did drive it so yes it does run. It is also a complete car to include the original tail lights. It belonged to a guys daughter who is gratuating soon so she got a brand new sonata and he was using it to drive 5 miles to work. Here are the only pictures of it that I have right now

Yeah check for rust thoroughly. And I would say anything under $5K is a good deal, anything under $3K is a steal for a 2g. Maybe -500 for the fact it isnt a 2gb.

:thumb: :hellyeah: Awesome, find. Plus there was no rod knock either thats another :thumb:. Also, the owner was female thats a plus, because she wouldn't beat on it.

But I do highly recommend changing all fluids right away, from my experience with my 98 rs. Some women are forgetfull about the maintence.

when I was throughly climbing around the engine I did check the strut towers on the inside but i would have to pull wheels off to check the underside and the upper side showed no signs of rusting through or rust at all
 
I say good deal only if it what you think it is. I paid $2200 for my 97 GSX from a private seller. It has a salvage-rebuilt title, no major engine work done and no major problems so far in the 6 months i've had it, some minor body issues as you can tell from the pic, but runs strong. I did know about some of the emissions problems, but that was the project car i wanted. I would just make sure you go by book and do all of your maintainance checks first.
 
check those lower rear quarters, bottom of the rockers at the seams, and the underbody for rust. I find it hard to believe that is the only rust on the car. I don't mean to be a buzz killington, but in my experience, if they're rusted in one place, they're probably rusted in many more
 
That just has I was taken care of all over it. Be careful, you probably could clean it up easily, but don't let it get worse...
 
It sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I thought I got a good one with my virgin at $4K w/ relatively low mileage for So-Cal and a clean title. Besides the fluids depending on your mileage I'd say change the seals, water pump and timing belt if you don't have the full maintenance records. As to everyones advice on checking further on the rust I'd definitely concur.
