hi everyone. i've finally had the chance to live out my screen name and purchase a good dsm. The deal is not done yet, but when i go to look at it, i need to know what exactly to look for, and the kinds of questions to ask about the mechanics of the car. I am dsm saavy on an intermeditate level, so i'll know what you're talking about for the most part. I'll give as much info on the car that i know so far that i know, so if there is something that i left out or need to find out lmk! I'm not sure what brands most parts are yet but i will find out and i will post of them later. Thanks :dsm:

The vehicle i'm looking at is a 1998 GS-T and has a:
reinforced 4g63 seven bolt complete with:
cams and cam gears
8.5:1 compression pistons (isn't that stock?)
aftermartket rods
RC550cc inj.

Other mods are:
spearco fmic (tube and fin or bar and plate? not sure)
greddy type-s BOV
all ic piping is mandrel bent (supposedly)
3" downpipe w/ exhaust
20g turbo@ 9 lbs. (not sure how its 'gated)

Electronics and gauges:
boost gauge and A/F ratio gauge
greddy tt
s-afc

How good is this setup? I really need to know soon, thanks guys in advance :thumb:

First, I highly suggest you change your last post, If a moderator comes in and see's that, You're thread will automatically be locked. With that said...

Click this link to look at a website that might help you out alittle bit with what to look for.

As any other car, look for any visual problems you see, Look for any leaks or drips/puddles under the car. Make sure you take the car, Or the owner takes you, For a ride in the car, to make sure everything seems good. Ask him to get on it alittle bit if he is just taking it easy, This way you know that it goes into boost and everything.

As with any modded car, It was modded for a reason, So do not let him tell you the car was babied the whole time he owned it, Because he is just lying to himself and you at the same time. Just make sure the car is mechanically sound, Unless you are buying it as a fix-up car.

Goodluck in your decision.
