hey guys its been a long time since i been on- but im in a major delima now.... i have a 1990 eclipse GS turbo- (yes a GS turbo not a gst they didnt make gst's in 1990) that the body/chassis is like virtually rot free- it has 200 thou on the body and its solid as it can get. i bought the car and the ecu fried then the clutch blew so bad that the motor tried to jump out of the car and i sold it for 700 bucks.
well i just bought the car back because a buddy owed me money and works at advanced auto and he got me a new clutch and master cylinder for the clutch and my other buddy gave me a 6 bolt flywheel and starter for cheap- i also picked up a 92 talon tsi awd in decent shape no real rot that was just a shell for 375 bucks with title and keys in hand .... now here comes the fun part-
i jsut got done pulling the motor and transmission, theres a broken ear on the tranny and a piece broke off the block as well by it- somehow it only had 2 bolts holding it together- the oil lines to the turbo have been snapped somehow and well honestly it looks as tho someone just poured 50 gallons of old oil all over it.... its bad- but idk if i want to actually finish paying off this car or sell it as a whole and then part out the talon....
so my questions begin with- can the tranny and motor pieces be welded back in place and not have to worry about it? also i went to remove the flywheel and when i put my breaker bar on the bolt the fly wheel dont spin now- its been a year since i heard it run- so im guessing its ceased now? i still need a 90 turbo manual ecu and then i need to know what to do... what should i do should i just pull the drive train out of the talon and sell it for a hundred and fifty and scrap the rest and then use the money to attempt to fix mine? or should i part them both out or sell them as a set ? im still classified a noob here so i cant post on here but idk what to do- what would you guys do?
