I did some research on this myself prior to going with a fully forged build...this is what I was told. Stock 4G63 rods from a 6 bolt are stronger than 7 bolt rods...I've also been told the 6 bolt came with a forged crank...the pistons out of a 7 bolt motor are stronger than the 6 bolt ones but also run a higher compression ratio 8.5:1 vs 9:1 I believe. The general consensus I've encounter so far is that the rods will be your main concern...and stock rods of capable of handling just shy of 600hp if you balance them right and use good bearings.

Depending on how much you want to crank up the boost... in my opinion...I'd go with a multi layer steel head gasket, a better intercooler if you dont already have one...and slightly larger fuel injectors to keep the car from developing knock due to running lean...toss in some ACL tri-metal bearings and double check the cylinder compression for leak down.

What exactly is your goal intake pressure by the way? and which engine are you running? 420A, 6 bolt 4G63 or 7 boly 4G63?

yeah...at 15psi you should be fine on stock stuff...I think stock 4G63T's run at in around the 10-14 psi range anyways...you shouldnt really need to change anything at all

If you are on your stock setup which includes your turbo and fuel then it's 15psi MAX. Make sure you have an aftermarket boost gauge and you do ALL of your maintenance before turning up the boost.

If you haven't done the free mods yet, look into them. You can skip over the BCS mod as you eliminate it when using a boost controller.

I would run it around 14, 15-16 is pushing that turbo. A 1g BOV would be a good idea. there cheap and hold boost way beter than the crapy 2g one that tend to leak.

If i Turn up t 15 psi with a 1g BOV will it present any problems?... Or be unhealthy?

As long as your car's maintenance is all up to date you will be fine and you'll notice a small difference at that level. I wouldn't go beyond 15 though.

Alright on to my next question, should I just do the BCS Removal, or buy a manual boost controller from my friend for $35? ( I dont know how to install the boost controller)

Get the MBC depending on the style and brand. They are very simple to install. The one nipple gets a pressure source (closer to turbo the better) and the outlet nipple goes to the waste gate actuator.

You really need to start reading and stop posting. If you don't have a boost gauge don't buy a boost controller. The upgrade path was posted, follow it.

I have read and I have a boost gauge, Thanks.
