I've seen and installed those gauge overlays and they look exactly like that. What color are your gauge faces?

does the car have a 6 bolt swap? it could be a pot mod to eliminate the random misfire code for the 6 bolt swap...

Sub volume switchs are usually in a plastic box of sorts an the wires that conect to them look alot like a telephone wire. If the wires conected to it dont look like that then its not for sub woofer volume.. unless someone built there own...

It looks like a potentiometer from one of those gauge cluster overlay things.

It is the dial that controls the intensity of the light for white face guages like JDT said. There should be a rocker switch nearby that changes the color green or blue. If you have white face guages and they do not illuminate you need to trace the wires that supply the power and fix them.

Definitely a potentiometer, does it dim the dash lights like maybe the factory dimmer quit??

Looks just like my sub level control know that someone too the box off to custom mount in the dash.

I'll try to post a pic in a bit. It would be easy to tell If it's the same, there will be 4 female rca connections coming off it in the rear.

In his OP the picture shows that it has 2 wires, so it dims or reduces something .....like in my car a shift light RPM set point or just about anything.....play with it .

Hey guys my bad it took a minute, but right when i took the pic the dial just fell off in my hand haha so I didnt get to play with it. But I do have white faced gauges with a blue light in the cluster along with every light in the car so you guys are probably right about that. A while back the light in the gauge cluster went out, do you think this happened because the bulb is bad or because this dial was hanging on by a thread?
